Community Connector training - resources
These resources are provided to the Community Connectors taking part in the Core 20 plus 5 Oral Health in under 10s programme. They include videos and slides of the training provided and links to other useful resources and websites.
The training was commissioned in 2024 by Healthwatch Bucks, Healthwatch Oxfordshire and Healthwatch Reading.
Week 1 - Health and your community
In the first training session, Andrew from Scottish Community Development Centre introduced some ideas about health and society, and the importance of hearing the voices of people in communities (lived experience) when designing and imporving services or making decisions that affect communities.

Week 2 - Gathering stories
In the second training session, Andrew introduced ways to reach people in your communty and to gather stories.

Week 3 - Building a message
The third and final session is focused on building a message out of the stories you have gathered, and presenting this message effectively.
