Training and services to support community development

We have a range of training and development support to community organisations and people working with communities across Scotland.

We offer flexible training courses for groups 5-15 across a range of areas designed to help you make a greater positive impact on the quality of life within your community, and the communities you work with.

Training can be provided as introductory workshops, in-depth training, practice support, training for trainers and bespoke consultancy or ongoing mentoring support - we're flexible to suit your needs.

Our training is:

  • Well-balanced between tried-and tested methods and innovative techniques to ensure learning outcomes are met.

  • Delivered by experienced practitioners who understand the topics, and how to facilitate meaningful discussion and learning.

  • Always engaging and participative, allowing time for discussion and reflection - no ‘death-by-powerpoint’.

  • Authoritative and value-led, bringing together SCDC’s knowledge of the developing empowerment policy environment, and our position as the lead body for community development in Scotland.

We work to a daily rate of £600, and our highly skilled and experienced Development Managers will work directly with you to develop and deliver your training, as well as access to extensive materials and resources.

To ensure the training remains engaging and participative, we aim to deliver to 5 - 15 participants (based on 1 trainer). In some cases we may need to include additional preparation time for more bespoke training, or for training to larger groups.

We're always happy to discuss our training options and may be able offer discounted rates, so please get in touch.
