Kate McHendry
/Development Manager
Kate's role within SCDC focuses on Community Capacity Building and Action Research.
She is currently the Development Manager for Health Issues in the Community, a national programme that facilitates groups to identify what affects their health and the health of their communities and how community development approaches can address these.

She also supports communities to develop their skills and confidence; strengthen their organisations to enable them to be more effective and influential in their activities.
Kate has many years of experience of working from a community development perspective in a variety of settings - research, voluntary sector, economic development, youth work, adult and further education.
