Following a recent series of national webinars and local community conversations, SCDC are running two further national online sessions, providing a chance for community members to share their views on what the Scottish Government can do to help maximise the impact of community benefits.
Community benefits schemes are additional funds that renewable energy developers make available to communities, enabling them to share in the benefits that projects bring.
The Scottish Government are currently running an online consultation around its onshore and offshore Good Practice Principles, to support communities and developers to get the best from community benefits. The online consultation is open until 11th April 2025, with an opportunity for communities to submit a written response
These additional online sessions will take place after the online consultation closes, however will still feed directly into the formal consultation, offering community members a chance to discuss and express their views on community benefits and the Good Practice Principles for onshore and offshore renewable energy.
The sessions will take place on Tuesday 22nd April at 6-8pm and Monday 28th April at 1-3pm. You can sign up for either session here.
