Toolkit: Building Stronger Community Organisations

How can community groups best achieve their aims? How do they meet community needs? Where to begin? These are some of the questions that the Building Stronger Community Organisations resource helps to answer.
Launched last year by the Scottish Refugee Council and SCDC, the resource is aimed at refugee communities and refugee supporting groups, but can be used by all types of community organisations.
The free online toolkit takes community organisations through 10 modules designed to explore the key things to consider, and important actions to take.
The resource explores how groups can get started, what they need to do to ensure they're run well and can plan ahead, and how best to engage with local communities to understand their priorities.
It also has information about how best to show the group's impact, how to secure funding, manage finances, and practical tips on running events and campaigning for wider change.
Each module features presentations, template downloads and exercises that can be used by groups themselves, or people providing support.
